Landon Solberg - West Fargo, ND

June 29, 2007 - Sep. 17, 2019

We first met Landon when he was our honoree at the 2018 GGC Night w/the Fargo RedHawks. It only took about 10 minutes to figure out that Landon and his family are incredibly special people. Over the next 14 months, we got to spend time with Landon in West Fargo and in Cincinnati, OH. Although the time spent with Landon was short, the quality of time was immeasurable. Time at the baseball game, at the Cincy Zoo, at hotel swimming pools, at the outdoor mall and the Solberg home. All of those times are now a HUGE part of the GGC fabric and a driving force for Gold Glove Charities to do more - and to do it better.

Carter+Roberts+Coach+Self.jpg

Carter Roberts - Derby, KS

July 31, 2010 - Feb. 11, 2018

Carter Roberts was at St. Jude when we first heard about him. We immediately reached out to his family to see if we could do something special for Carter. On their Facebook page, there was a common theme: Kansas Jayhawks Men’s Basketball. GGC was able to arrange for Carter to meet his favorite team and coach when they brought his family in for a walk-through practice and game at Allen Fieldhouse. Carter has 2 brothers, Brady and Tate.

MIke+and+Brett+3.jpg

Brett Myers - Haven, KS

Feb. 8, 2001 - April 7, 2018

Brett Myers was one of the first 3 kids that we met at prominent oncologist Dr. Rosen’s office in Wichita, KS. Our relationship was friendship immediately, as Brett always immersed himself in athletics, especially baseball. Brett formed many bonds with Wichita-area athletes and coaches. After meeting many Wichita Wingnuts players when they visited Dr. Rosen’s office, Brett continued communication with several of them, even playing against each other in an online golf video game. Also a favorite of WSU Men’s Basketball Coach Gregg Marshall, “Brettski" made many trips to the Shockers locker room to hang out with the team.

Gabe Marshall Memorial Page.jpg

Gabe Marshall - Hutchinson, KS

June 4, 2008 - Feb. 2, 2018

Gabe Marshall was one of GGC’s Wichita Wingnuts honorees in 2017. Gabe was one of the most charismatic and comedic kids we have ever met. Not comedic like telling jokes, but comedic in his ability to improvise on the fly. During our tailgate picnic, with over 150 people in attendance, Gabe was asked to be interviewed by one of the local TV stations on hand. Not only did Gabe provide an interview, but he took the microphone, told the cameraman and reporter to “come with me” and then proceeded to, himself, interview others at the picnic!

Myles%2BMemorial%2BPage.jpg

“Mighty” Myles Allen - West Fargo, ND

May 13, 2012 - Jan. 8, 2020

“Mighty" Myles Allen was one of GGC’c honorees at their 2019 Fargo RedHawks Night. Unfortunately, the game was canceled due to wet field conditions just moments before pregame festivities began. However, the RedHawks all came out in their GGC Night uniforms and hung out and played with all of the kids. Myles was a very sweet and caring young boy who loved the Avengers, thus the nickname “Mighty Myles”! He has been referred to as a “walking encyclopedia on super heroes”. Myles has one brother, Traeden.

KaidenSchroederCATSride2.jpg

Kaiden Schroeder - McPherson, KS

March 2, 2005 - Dec. 1, 2017

Kaiden Schroeder was Gold Glove Charities first ever GGC honoree, which was held in 2016 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, KS. A few of Kaiden’s passions were baseball and K-State football. During a spring game in Manhattan, KS, Kaiden got to carry the football and rumble for a 30-yd. touchdown run! Huge, INFECTIOUS smile is what everyone immediately recognized about Kaiden, as he could light up the darkest of rooms with a simple smile. We NEVER had an interaction with Kaiden when he was not smiling. Kaiden has a sister, Ashlyn and brother, Bryson. Former KSU football player and close friend Ryan Mueller is considered Kaiden’s brother, as well!.

K-State Spring Game 2014: 8 year old Kaiden Schroeder scores for the purple team on a 30 yard run for a touchdown. Kaiden is close friends with K-State DE Ry...

Elliott Baseball 2.JPG

Elliott Ortega - Valley Center, KS

Feb. 15, 2011 - April 18, 2019

We met Elliott and his family at our 2018 GGC Night w/the Wichita Wingnuts and immediately fell in love. Elliott, aka “Hulkster” could soften any hardened heart with his award-winning smile and his heart-warming personality. Elliott loved baseball, soccer, super heroes and his “bros” (classmates)! Elliott was the first Grand Marshal of a law enforcement parade in Wichita. GGC is blessed and honored to have met and known Elliott and his family. Elliott has one sister, Lilee.

Eowyn Chin in Hands.jpg

 Eowyn Maynes - Smithville, MO

Sep. 10, 2012 - May 13, 2018

When a business colleague contacted us about Eowyn, we jumped at the opportunity to do something for her. After hearing about how much soccer is a passion for the entire family, we contacted FCKC, the professional women’s team in Kansas City. Eowyn was a guest for an FCKC practice, and she stole the show! From kicking the ball around with the players, to riding the shoulders of Defender Katie Bowen, Eowyn kept everyone smiling. The next day, Eowyn attended the FCKC game and helped with the coin flip prior to the game while getting her own jersey number retired at halftime. Eowyn has 3 sisters, Rhiannon, Delainy and Avery.

Charlie+and+Mike.jpg

Charlie Futhey - Rose Hill, KS

Nov. 4, 2002 - May 14, 2017

When we crossed the doorstep into Dr. Rosen’s office for the first time, who knew that we would first meet Charlie? Green Bay Packers lovin’, Speedo wearin’, Catching Kelce watchin’ Charlie! Our first meeting was spent with Charlie, eyes down, engrossed in Travis Kelce’s reality show. The next week we came back down, we had a Kelce autographed football in tow. After that moment, Charlie began to trust us and let us see his kind and EXTREMELY funny personality - even keeping Dr. Rosen at bay for fear he would let the air out of his Kelce football!

Matthew McCue Website.jpg

 Matthew McCue - Hutchinson, KS

July 30, 1998 - Nov. 18, 2018

We love an individual who has their own, unique “calling card”, and Matthew did not disappoint! From the first time we met Matthew, we could identify him without taking our eyes far off the ground. Matthew’s collection of wild & crazy colored socks was second to none. So important to him, that a week before he was honored at our 2018 Wingnuts game, his mother messaged us to find out the base color of the jerseys so he could match his socks. Matthew was an Eagle Scout and also sang in the choir. He has 3 sisters, Heather, Janelle and Kelly.

Drag Memorial Page.jpg

Landon Dragicevich - Des Plaines, IL

Feb. 14, 2007 - Aug. 13, 2019

Landon was an honoree for our GGC Night w/the Chicago Dogs in 2019. Unfortunately, Landon was unable to appear in person at the game. However, with the help of technology, Landon was on-field with all of the other honorees via Facetime with his player partner, Casey Crosby. Landon, a big ChiSox fan, loved running races and was on his school’s track and cross country teams. Kind-hearted and sneaky smart, Landon was also a huge animal lover, especially cats and dogs. Landon was featured on the cover of the GGC/Chicagold Dogs 2020 Calendar!

Lynly Memorial Page.jpg

 Lynly Green - Florence, MS

March 5, 2018 - April 6, 2020

Lynly was one of GGC’s honorees at their 1st GGC Night w/the Mississippi Braves in Pearl, MS. Lynly, just 1.5 years old at the time, won over her player’s heart, as he held her on the foul line during introductions and the National Anthem. Lynly loved Disney, especially Minnie Mouse and Frozen. Often times, when possible, you could see Lynly enjoying waffles and donuts!
